Engineering & Technology Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Engineering & Technology Manager to lead a high‑performing team of engineers in Lagos. You will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling mission‑critical fintech solutions while ensuring security, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and manage a team of 5+ engineers, fostering accountability and growth.
• Architect, design and deliver scalable backend systems using Java (Spring Boot or similar).
• Oversee end‑to‑end product development across frontend, backend and mobile platforms.
• Provide technical leadership for Android and iOS application development.
• Enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, testing and security standards.
• Collaborate with product, operations and compliance teams on high‑transaction solutions.
• Design systems for high availability, scalability and security in fintech environments.
• Lead agile delivery processes such as sprint planning, backlog grooming and release management.
• Troubleshoot complex technical challenges across the full stack.
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling and performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 8‑15 years of software development experience with 3‑5+ years in a leadership role.
• Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams of 5+ developers.
• Strong background in fintech, banking or high‑volume transaction systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to work across multiple time zones.
