Electrical Engineering Graduate Trainee

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Engineering Graduate Trainee to join our team in Port Harcourt. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in installation, testing, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems while supporting senior engineers on diverse projects.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Support senior engineers in planning and executing electrical projects.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance of installations.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and project documentation.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Participate in site visits, inspections, and project monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulations.
• Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements.
• Assist with inventory management of materials, tools, and spare parts.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.
• Engage in training sessions, mentoring programs, and continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (B.Eng. or B.Sc.).
• Completion of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or valid exemption.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience; industrial training or internship is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical drawings.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and work both independently and in a team.
