Design and Estimation Manager

About the role

The Head of Design and Estimation is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Lagos, responsible for leading design and cost estimation activities for MEP projects and product initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of design concepts, detailed drawings and technical specifications, ensuring alignment with company standards and market requirements.
• Review and approve design work, prepare and validate cost estimates and budgets, and manage design and estimation tools and processes.
• Provide guidance, mentorship and performance standards to the design and estimation team.
• Collaborate with engineering, product management, procurement and operations to evaluate feasibility, optimise material and production costs, and support bid proposals.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies, improve design efficiency and contribute to strategic planning for new products and projects.

Required profile

• Strong background in design management, including concept development, detailed design and technical documentation review.
• Proven expertise in cost estimation, budgeting and financial analysis for projects or products.
• Experience leading cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment.
• Solid project management skills, including planning, risk assessment and delivery oversight.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Design, Architecture or Industrial Design.
