Cybersecurity Tutor

About the role

Cirvee Academy offers practical, hands-on and project-based training in cybersecurity among other fields, and is looking for a full-time, hybrid Cybersecurity Tutor based in Ibadan. The tutor delivers lessons, runs practical labs and projects, and contributes to both in-person and online sessions.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver clear, structured cybersecurity lessons and explain complex security concepts simply.
• Guide learners through practical labs and projects.
• Design and update course materials, assessments and learning resources aligned with current industry practices and certifications.
• Mentor students, give feedback on assignments and support learners during office hours.
• Collaborate with other tutors to keep content up to date with emerging threats and tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior teaching, tutoring, mentoring or training experience, preferably in cybersecurity or related technology fields.
• Excellent communication, presentation and classroom management skills for in-person and virtual instruction.
• Comfort with online learning platforms, collaboration tools and digital learning materials.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying current on emerging threats and best practices.

Required skills

• Strong foundation in network security, application security, secure coding, vulnerability assessment and incident response.
• Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM solutions, firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection and vulnerability scanners.
• Knowledge of standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST and OWASP Top 10, and basic understanding of compliance and risk management.
• Ability to simplify technical topics for learners at different skill levels.
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CySA+, CEH or CISSP are an advantage.
