Communications Assistant

About the role

Miri Africa is looking for a Communications Assistant to manage its social media, build its online community and handle corporate communications. The role covers content creation, customer communication and brand messaging, within an agile, impact-driven team.

Key responsibilities

• Manage Miri Africa's social media platforms, including content planning, publishing and audience engagement.
• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, feedback and follow-ups across communication channels.
• Build and manage the online community, engaging customers, partners and other stakeholders.
• Develop, write and distribute company newsletters and email communications.
• Maintain consistent brand positioning and messaging across all platforms.
• Create and coordinate content on products, services, activities and impact, and develop thought leadership such as articles and executive communications.
• Monitor engagement, feedback and content performance, reporting regularly and recommending improvements.
• Collaborate with internal teams on product updates and company milestones.
• Identify opportunities for media coverage, partnerships and campaigns.

Required profile

• HND or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years' experience in corporate communications, social media management or digital content creation.
• Strong written, verbal, storytelling and copyediting skills.
• Creativity, attention to detail, media awareness and alignment with brand messaging.
