Commercial Manager – Chemical Distribution (Nigeria)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Commercial Manager to lead business development and market growth in the chemical distribution and trading sector in Nigeria.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the market development and trading strategy for Nigeria, identifying new business opportunities to increase market share.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to inform strategic decisions.
• Build and manage a sustainable portfolio of profitable customers, fostering long‑term relationships.
• Lead the full commercial cycle from prospecting and negotiation to deal closure, managing key accounts and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Navigate Nigerian market specifics such as forex, logistics and contractual considerations, preparing commercial offers and following up quotations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a business development or commercial role, preferably within chemical distribution or trading.
• Strong understanding of the Nigerian market and existing commercial networks in Nigeria or West Africa.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; knowledge of additional local languages is an advantage.
• Proximity to Onitsha River Port.
