Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

About the role

CredPal, a financial technology company offering credit cards and investment solutions, is looking for a Chief Technology Officer to lead its technology strategy, engineering execution and platform scalability. The CTO works as a core member of the executive leadership team, alongside Product & Engineering, Risk, Compliance and Business leaders, and reports to the executive team. The role suits a hands-on technology leader with deep fintech experience.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the long-term technology vision and architect scalable, secure, high-availability systems for credit, payments, investments and bill payments
• Lead decisions on infrastructure, cloud services, tooling and emerging technologies
• Build, lead and mentor engineers across backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, data and QA, and set engineering standards and benchmarks
• Partner with Product to deliver the product roadmap, and drive DevOps, CI/CD and automation
• Ensure platform reliability, uptime and performance, and lead incident management and monitoring
• Own technology security, data protection and compliance with fintech regulations and data protection laws (NDPR)
• Support credit scoring and risk assessment through reliable data infrastructure
• Collaborate with Product, Risk, Compliance, Operations and Commercial teams, and communicate technical concepts to executives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; a Master's is an advantage
• 6+ years in software engineering, with at least 4-5 years in a senior technology leadership role
• Proven experience building and scaling fintech platforms in credit, payments or digital financial services
• Experience leading engineering teams in high-growth or startup environments
• Familiarity with the Nigerian fintech ecosystem is a major advantage
