Chief Commercial Officer

About the role

The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be the principal revenue‑growth executive for Crown Interactive, overseeing commercial activities across its four business units – 1Gov, CuBOSS, CICOD and the Academy. The role is responsible for turning market opportunities and demand into qualified pipelines, secured contracts, and cash‑generating business while ensuring payment certainty.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the consolidated revenue‑growth plan, translating strategy into segment priorities, account plans and sales coverage models.
• Maintain a qualified, payment‑secure pipeline, provide transparent forecasting to the CEO and Board, and take corrective action when coverage falls short.
• Lead commercial strategy for strategic government, utility and enterprise accounts, managing renewals, cross‑sell, and expansion.
• Own bid/no‑bid decisions, pricing, contract negotiation and ensure contract terms protect margin, cash flow and intellectual property.
• Classify opportunities by payment security, prioritize advance or escrow mechanisms, and drive commercial collections.
• Develop and manage commercial partnerships, channel relationships and regional growth initiatives, especially in Kenya and East Africa.
• Build a common sales methodology, incentive plans tied to collected revenue, and ensure seamless handoffs between demand generation, sales, and delivery.

Required profile

• Senior executive with proven experience building and leading commercial organisations in B2B, SaaS or GovTech environments.
• Strong track record of delivering real, collectible revenue and managing payment‑risk in public‑sector contracts.
• Ability to work with CEOs, Boards and senior stakeholders to institutionalise commercial processes.
