Cashier – Banking & Finance

About the role

The Cashier will manage daily cash operations for Swift Consulting’s micro‑finance activities in Lagos. You will be the primary point of contact for members making loan repayments, deposits and withdrawals, ensuring accurate processing and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process loan repayments, savings deposits and other member payments.
• Disburse approved loans following established procedures.
• Issue receipts, maintain transaction records and balance the cash drawer daily.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly cash reports and reconcile cash flows.
• Deposit cash into designated bank accounts as required.
• Maintain security and confidentiality of cash and financial records.
• Respond to member inquiries regarding payments and transactions.
• Collaborate with Accounts and Loan Officers to ensure accurate financial records.
• Report any discrepancies or suspicious activities immediately.

Required profile

• OND in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• 1–2 years experience as a cashier, teller or similar role, preferably in a micro‑finance bank or cooperative.
• Strong numerical ability, integrity and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
