Area Business Manager – Direct Sales (Idah, Kogi State)

About the role

The Area Business Manager will lead the direct distribution of Sun King Solar’s Pay‑As‑You‑Buy (EasyBuy) products in Idah, Kogi State. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, the role is responsible for building a high‑performing team of Energy Officers and ensuring rapid, sustainable growth of sales and collections.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train and retain at least 40 Energy Officers using community influencers such as village heads, teachers and local leaders.
• Provide comprehensive training on sales, collections, product knowledge, technical aspects, inventory and logistics.
• Define clear daily tasks, routes, targets and sales/collection plans for Energy Officers.
• Conduct weekly field visits and touch‑points with each Energy Officer, resolving issues and reporting to the Regional Business Manager.
• Participate in the first five sales of each Energy Officer to ensure proper process understanding.
• Organise joint field activities, night and market activations, and community events to drive group sales.
• Monitor performance and work towards exceeding sales and collection targets.

Required profile

• Proven ability to hire, train and supervise a large field sales team.
• Strong understanding of direct sales, collections and inventory management.
• Demonstrated integrity, ethics and professionalism in customer interactions.
• Excellent communication skills for coaching Energy Officers and liaising with community leaders.
