Architect - Furniture and Interior Decor

About the role

eRecruiter is recruiting, on behalf of its client, an Architect for a leading Nigerian company in interior design, furniture manufacturing, stainless-steel manufacturing and luxury furniture. The Architect develops design solutions, prepares detailed drawings and coordinates with clients and the factory so that furniture and interior projects are delivered successfully, from individual products to complete project scopes.

Key responsibilities

• Meet clients to understand their requirements and present custom proposals covering space planning, furniture layouts and interior design concepts.
• Visit sites to take accurate measurements and produce detailed as-built drawings and 3D renderings.
• Prepare quotes and cost estimates based on project scope, materials and client expectations.
• Supervise and project-manage ongoing site works so they match approved design, specifications and deadlines.
• Prepare job orders and production drawings to guide the production team.
• Liaise with the production team to ensure furniture meets specifications, with attention to quality and delivery timelines.
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors and the in-house installation team.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Furniture Design or Interior Design; additional certifications in CAD, 3D visualization or project management are a plus.
• 3-7 years of proven experience in architectural design, interior decoration or furniture design projects.
• Demonstrated portfolio of completed interior and furniture projects.
• Experience working with production managers, carpenters and decorators.
• Familiarity with sustainable and cost-effective design practices.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3ds Max, Lumion or similar 3D modelling and rendering software.
• Strong understanding of space planning, ergonomics and material application (wood, metal, upholstery, laminates, paints, glass).
• Ability to prepare detailed technical drawings, shop drawings and specifications.
