Accounts Receivable Officer - Healthcare

About the role

A client of the recruiter is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Officer in Lekki, Lagos, to manage accounts receivable, HMO operations and healthcare claims. The role ensures accurate billing, timely claims submission, prompt collections and efficient revenue cycle management, while keeping good relationships with HMOs, corporate clients and internal stakeholders. It is a full-time position reporting to the Finance Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and process invoices for HMOs and corporate clients, and coordinate timely claims and bill submissions
• Ensure claims are fully documented, and investigate rejected, disputed, delayed or underpaid claims
• Maintain receivables records, generate aging reports and post and reconcile payments and HMO statements
• Liaise with HMOs on authorisation, tariffs, capitation, reconciliation and payment processing, and support claims recovery
• Prepare periodic reports on receivables and collections, support audits, and comply with financial controls and healthcare regulations
• Work with Finance, Clinical, Operations and Client Service teams and recommend process improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field; ICAN, ACCA, ANAN or equivalent is an added advantage
• 2-4 years of experience in accounts receivable, HMO operations, medical billing or revenue cycle management in a healthcare or medical diagnostics setting
• Proven experience in claims processing, debt recovery, billing and account reconciliation
• Strong communication, negotiation and relationship management skills, with attention to detail and confidentiality
