Accountant – Real Estate Finance

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage financial reporting, cash flow, and compliance for our real estate development projects in Lagos. The role involves close collaboration with sales, property management, and project teams to ensure accurate financial records.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Manage general ledger entries, journal postings and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Monitor daily cash flows, escrow accounts and property transaction inflows/outflows.
• Conduct budget‑versus‑actual variance analysis for development and sales projects.
• Process client receipts, issue property invoices and track buyer payment schedules.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE and liaise with auditors and tax authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• ACA/ACCA qualification (or in progress) strongly preferred.
• 3–5 years progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in real‑estate or construction.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and financial compliance standards.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with QuickBooks.
• Experience with Zoho Books.
• Familiarity with real‑estate ERP accounting software.
