Accountant

About the role

Recare, a marketer of personal style products in Africa with operations in Nigeria and South Africa, is looking for a highly skilled Accountant in Isolo, Lagos. The Accountant prepares the company's financial accounting, handles treasury management, provides management and statutory reports, and supports business planning and performance management.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and related accounts with proper documentation and accurate recording of transactions, and review entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting procedures.
• Prepare monthly and year-end closing of the books and financial reports for management and statutory purposes.
• Implement the company's chart of accounts and accounting system (policies, procedures, technology).
• Support the external audit by making all required financial and non-financial records available.
• Implement a cost accounting system covering standard costs, actual costs and variance investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 8 to 12 years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Professional certifications such as ACA, ACCA or CPA are desirable.
• Relevant accounting or finance experience is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis.
• Strong budgeting, tax preparation and compliance skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
• Communication, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
