Accountant – Financial Reporting & Controls

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to lead month‑end close, financial reporting and control activities across multiple subsidiaries in Lagos. The role requires strong analytical abilities and hands‑on accounting expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions, ensuring discrepancies are resolved promptly.
• Lead month‑end close for assigned subsidiaries, preparing trial balances, management accounts and performance reports.
• Perform bank, cash, general ledger, receivables, payables and intercompany reconciliations, investigating material variances.
• Review financial transactions for compliance with internal controls and identify risk areas.
• Coordinate tax filings, statutory reporting and external audit documentation.
• Provide senior management with timely financial analysis, budgeting support and recommendations for process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant accounting experience, including multi‑entity accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end close, bank reconciliation and intercompany accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Residency within Ajah or surrounding areas and ability to work onsite.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.
