Account Associate

About the role

TAG Energy is hiring a full-time Account Associate in Lagos (Marina). The role covers day-to-day accounting work, including statutory payments, payroll processing, ledger reconciliation and audit support.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure all statutory remittances are paid on time and prepare salaries so they are disbursed on the due date.
• Maintain and reconcile the balance sheet and general ledger, and check figures, postings and documents for accuracy.
• Monitor timely submission of invoices and verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Assist with annual audit preparations and investigate audit findings, account discrepancies and non-compliance issues.
• Prepare financial status and transaction reports, including a profit and loss statement, for management review.
• Follow company policies, keep company information confidential, help develop new accounting systems and perform other accounting duties as needed.

Required profile

• BSc degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven accounting experience; ICAN, ACCA or CMA certification is preferred.
• Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills, with attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUP and pivot tables.
• In-depth understanding of GAAP and tax laws.
