Structural Design & Site Engineer

About the role

The Structural Design & Site Engineer will lead the end‑to‑end structural and civil engineering development of projects at The Offshore Lab, from concept through detailed design to construction delivery. This position combines design‑led responsibilities with on‑site technical leadership to ensure safe, economical, and buildable solutions for a variety of infrastructure and building projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed structural and civil designs for buildings, infrastructure and industrial projects in line with international codes and project requirements.
• Perform structural analysis, modelling and design calculations using software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, ProtaStructure or Tekla Structural Designer.
• Design reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry, timber and foundation systems (shallow and deep).
• Prepare design reports, engineering calculations, specifications, schedules and construction drawings.
• Coordinate structural interfaces with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, geotechnical and specialist disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, multidisciplinary coordination meetings and technical workshops.
• Supervise structural works on site, resolve technical queries, review shop drawings and method statements, and ensure construction complies with approved designs.
• Support quality‑assurance, safety and overall project delivery objectives.

Required profile

• Strong analytical capability and engineering judgement.
• Proficiency in structural design software and modelling tools.
• Experience in multidisciplinary coordination and practical construction environments.
• Ability to act as the primary technical authority for structural engineering within assigned projects.
