Programme Officer – Budget & Quality Assurance (Temporary)

About the role

The UNICEF Nigeria Nutrition Programme is seeking a Programme Officer – Budget and Quality Assurance on a temporary assignment. Reporting to the Nutrition Manager (Diets and Practices), the officer will support the delivery of a USD 250 million nutrition programme by ensuring budgets are aligned with strategy and donor requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review proposal budgets and financial projections to match the Nutrition and Child Development Section’s strategy and resource mobilisation needs.
• Track and manage the effective and efficient utilisation of budgets, ensuring compliance with multiple donor conditionalities.
• Monitor financial performance and prepare regular reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support quality‑assurance processes related to budgeting and financial management.

Required profile

• Experience in budgeting, financial planning or related financial management functions.
• Ability to work under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager and collaborate with programme teams.
• Familiarity with donor‑funded programmes and conditionality compliance.
