Lifting Supervisor – Oil & Gas Projects

About the role

The Lifting Supervisor will lead and oversee all lifting operations for large‑scale oil & gas construction projects, both onshore and offshore, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficient execution.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all lifting activities on site, acting as the focal point between construction teams, methods engineering, HSE, and project management.
• Develop, review, and validate lifting plans and procedures in line with project constraints and international standards.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE policies, Nigerian regulations, and standards such as API, ISO, and LOLER; conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analyses.
• Train, mentor, and certify lifting personnel including crane operators, riggers, and banksmen.
• Carry out regular inspections of lifting equipment and accessories, maintaining up‑to‑date certification and maintenance records.
• Plan and schedule lifting operations, manage unforeseen situations, and optimise resource use.
• Maintain communication with clients, vendors, and subcontractors and provide regular progress reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lifting Supervisor on oil & gas projects.
• Strong background in both onshore and offshore lifting operations.
• Excellent knowledge of heavy lifting equipment and relevant safety standards.

Required skills

• Crane operation and rigging.
• Lifting equipment inspection and certification.
• Knowledge of API, ISO, and LOLER standards.
• Risk assessment and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) preparation.
• Lifting plan development and procedure validation.
