Legal Manager – Corporate & Regulatory Affairs

About the role

The Legal Manager will lead LAGRIDE’s legal function, ensuring compliance with Nigerian laws and regulations while supporting business growth. This senior position provides strategic legal advice across fleet operations, driver engagements, partnerships, and vendor relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advisory support to management on operational, commercial, and strategic matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts such as driver agreements, B2B contracts, vendor agreements, fleet leasing, and partnership arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with Nigerian laws, transportation regulations, and corporate governance standards.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies, government agencies, and enforcement authorities.
• Manage litigation, disputes, claims, and pre‑litigation matters, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Identify legal risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
• Review and update company policies to ensure legal compliance.
• Support HR on employment‑related legal matters, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations.
• Maintain proper documentation and contract management systems.
• Provide legal input on new business initiatives, fleet expansion, and commercial partnerships.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree.
• Minimum 5 years post‑call experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Strong background in corporate, commercial, regulatory, or transportation law.
• Experience in mobility, fintech, logistics, or technology‑driven companies is an advantage.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
