HR Generalist – Employee Relations & Recruitment

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join Hec Recruit in Lagos. The role will focus on employee relations, recruitment, HR administration, payroll support and policy development, ensuring a positive workplace experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employee relations, including onboarding, off‑boarding, handling queries, grievances and maintaining a positive employee experience.
• Lead recruitment activities: post job ads, screen CVs, coordinate interviews and extend offers for mid‑level positions.
• Maintain HR records, oversee leave and attendance, and ensure compliance with the Nigeria Labour Act and internal policies.
• Support payroll by liaising with finance to guarantee accurate monthly payroll, tax, pension and NHIS deductions.
• Draft and update HR policies, run engagement initiatives, conduct performance reviews and coordinate training.

Required profile

• BSc/HND in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in Lagos.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian Labour Law, payroll processes and HRIS tools.
• CIPM or CIPD certification is a plus.
• High level of discretion, strong communication skills and sound judgment.
