HMO Billing & Receivable Officer

About the role

Soteria Eye Clinic is seeking a detail‑oriented HMO Billing & Receivable Officer to manage health‑insurance billing, claim submissions and receivables for our eye‑care services. The role ensures accurate documentation, timely claim processing and effective follow‑up on outstanding payments from HMOs and corporate clients.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and submit HMO claims and invoices accurately and on schedule.
• Verify patient eligibility and obtain treatment authorizations from HMOs.
• Maintain complete records of patient files, invoices and claim submissions.
• Follow up on overdue payments, reconcile receivables and update account status.
• Resolve billing discrepancies and address denied claims promptly.
• Liaise with HMOs, corporate organisations and internal departments regarding billing matters.

Required profile

• Minimum B.Sc in Health Information Management or a related field.
• Previous experience in HMO billing, medical billing or healthcare receivables preferred.
• Strong understanding of HMO processes and healthcare billing systems.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
