Head of Credit and Marketing (Microfinance Bank)

About the role

The Head of Credit and Marketing will lead the credit and marketing functions of our micro‑finance bank, based in Benin City. This senior position is responsible for designing credit policies, loan products and driving marketing initiatives that promote financial inclusion.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement credit policies, loan products and risk‑management frameworks while ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Supervise credit appraisal, monitor loan performance, lead recovery strategies and guide credit officers.
• Develop and execute marketing plans, manage brand positioning, and run customer acquisition and retention campaigns.
• Coordinate community outreach programmes to increase financial inclusion and collaborate with senior leadership to align credit and marketing strategies with overall business goals.
• Prepare regular performance reports for management and regulators, and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in credit or marketing within a micro‑finance bank or comparable financial institution, preferably in Nigeria.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or related field; postgraduate qualification or professional certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of micro‑finance regulations, compliance requirements and industry best practices.
• High level of integrity, sound judgment and commitment to responsible lending and customer protection.
