Corporate Lawyer – Lagos, Nigeria

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Lawyer to provide legal support, ensure regulatory compliance, manage legal documentation, and protect the company's interests in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts, agreements and other legal documents.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Conduct legal research and prepare opinions on various business issues.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations and dispute‑resolution processes when required.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies, external solicitors and other stakeholders.
• Monitor legislative changes and advise management on potential implications.
• Manage company records, licences, permits and statutory filings.
• Assist with risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Support management on employment, commercial and corporate legal matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) and Barrister‑at‑Law (B.L.).
• Qualified and licensed to practice law in Nigeria.
• Minimum 3–5 years post‑call experience in corporate, commercial or litigation practice.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian corporate and commercial laws.
• Excellent legal drafting, negotiation and analytical abilities.
• High attention to detail, problem‑solving skills and discretion with confidential information.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude AI.
