About the role
The European Union Delegation in Abuja seeks a Budget / Accounting Assistant (Local Agent Group 2) to support the Finance, Contract and Audit (FCA) Section. This fixed‑term position lasts two years, with a possible renewal depending on budgetary and operational considerations.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in the contractual and financial management of EU‑funded projects and programmes.
- Support tender procedures, calls for proposals, contract administration, and payment/recovery processes.
- Follow up on audit matters and ensure compliance with EU financial regulations.
- Provide advice to operational sections and beneficiaries/contractors on contractual, financial, and audit issues.
- Work under the supervision of the Head of the FCA Section and collaborate with a team of 12 professionals.
Required profile
- Ability to work under the supervision of the Head of Section.
- Willingness to adapt to changing delegation needs and occasional atypical working hours.
