Accountant

About the role

Rekrut Consulting is hiring a full-time Accountant based in Lagos, Marina. The role covers day-to-day bookkeeping, financial reporting, payroll and tax, as well as internal audit and advisory work.

Key responsibilities

• Record daily business transactions, sales and expenses and maintain general ledgers
• Prepare the balance sheet, profit and loss statement and cash flow statement
• Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Process payroll, calculate wages, handle tax withholdings and administer benefits
• Compute tax liabilities, file corporate and individual tax returns and ensure compliance with local and international tax laws such as GAAP or IFRS
• Carry out internal audits, review records for discrepancies or fraud and work with external auditors
• Analyse financial data to build budgets, forecast cash flows and advise management on cost reduction, profitability and investment

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in FMCG, retail or pharmacy-related businesses is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills, strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage financial records and meet deadlines
