Accountant – Hotel Finance

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Accountant to join our hotel finance team in Lagos. The role involves managing daily revenue reconciliation, expense tracking and payroll for a busy hospitality operation.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile daily PMS reports with cash, POS and bank transfers to ensure accurate revenue capture.
• Monitor food, beverage and asset inventory, performing COGS analysis to reduce waste.
• Handle vendor invoices, schedule payments and follow up on guest balances.
• Prepare monthly payroll, commissions, deductions and bonuses for hotel staff.
• Produce weekly cash‑flow summaries and monthly P&L statements for management.
• Compute and remit statutory taxes (VAT, WHT, PAYE, hotel consumption taxes) to Lagos State authorities.

Required profile

• 2–4 years of accounting experience, preferably in a hotel, lounge, restaurant or suite environment.
• HND in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; ICAN/ACCA parts an advantage.
• Strong analytical ability, integrity and focus on fraud prevention and cost control.

Required skills

• Proficiency with QuickBooks or similar hospitality accounting software.
• Experience using Sage.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
