Special Projects Officer

About the role

The Special Projects Officer supports the group's strategic growth agenda by managing high-impact projects, strategic partnerships and business improvement initiatives from concept through implementation. The role ensures stakeholder alignment, effective governance, risk mitigation, operational efficiency and measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning, coordination and delivery of special projects and strategic initiatives, from kick-off through implementation and post-implementation review.
• Identify, assess and monitor operational, financial, regulatory, technology, clinical, reputational and partnership risks.
• Act as central coordination point for projects involving multiple entities, departments, service providers and partners, resolving interdependencies and escalations.
• Coordinate initiatives on new insurance products, corporate client schemes, broker efficiency and other business transformation priorities.
• Assist in preparing partnership proposals, business cases, feasibility assessments, roadmaps, process maps and SOPs.
• Track milestones, deliverables, contractual obligations, SLAs and action items; maintain dashboards and weekly, monthly and status reports.
• Support management reviews and stakeholder presentations, and ensure compliance with policies, contracts and data protection requirements.
• Identify improvements in efficiency, customer experience, cost, revenue and quality, and support standardisation of project management templates and governance across the Group.
• Conduct research, benchmarking and market analysis to support proposals and business cases.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Insurance or a related discipline; MBA or related qualification an advantage.
• At least 3 years' experience in project management, business transformation, operations, strategy, consulting or partnership management.
• Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) an advantage.
• Experience in insurance, healthcare, employee benefits or a related industry preferred.

Required skills

• Strong project management, risk management and business case development skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with research and benchmarking experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and project tracking or reporting tools.
