Power Tiller Operator (Part‑time, Makurdi)

About the role

Airjosh Agro Solutions is seeking a part‑time Power Tiller Operator to join its on‑site team in Makurdi. You will operate and maintain power tillers and related farm machinery to prepare land for training, demonstration plots, and project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Operate power tillers for plowing, harrowing and seed‑bed preparation.
• Conduct basic pre‑operation equipment checks and routine servicing.
• Report any mechanical issues promptly to supervisors.
• Assist with loading, unloading and proper storage of machinery and tools.
• Collaborate with farm staff and smallholder farmers to meet field schedules.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience operating power tillers or similar farm machinery.
• Practical skills in routine maintenance and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Understanding of land preparation, soil tillage and crop establishment practices.
• Ability to follow safety guidelines and keep simple records of work and fuel use.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physical capacity to work outdoors for extended periods in varying weather.
• Basic literacy and numeracy; vocational or technical training in agriculture or mechanics is a plus.
