National Sales Manager

About the role

The National Sales Manager will lead the sales function for Pelican Staffing Solutions across Nigeria, driving revenue growth and expanding distribution for fast‑moving consumer goods. You will work closely with senior leadership to shape sales strategy, manage a high‑performance team, and ensure excellent client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business.
• Identify market gaps and acquire new customers to expand distribution.
• Coordinate promotional activities, trade shows and special events with the sales team.
• Motivate and guide the sales team to achieve revenue targets.
• Maintain sales management and reporting tools to monitor performance.
• Develop sales plans, budgets and schedules in collaboration with management.
• Prepare contracts, proposals and sales reports for management and customers.
• Represent the company at industry conferences, meetings and networking events.
• Hire, train and mentor new sales staff.
• Submit monthly management MIS decks and update debtor documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND (preferred).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG sales and distribution, with at least 5 years in a sales managerial role.
• Proven ability to lead a high‑performance sales team.
• Strong understanding of strategic sales processes and project implementation.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented and able to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
