Junior Accountant

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑driven Junior Accountant to join our Finance & Accounts team. The role offers hands‑on exposure to core accounting functions in a structured environment, supporting daily financial operations and basic reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Post daily financial transactions accurately and maintain up‑to‑date financial files.
• Assist with vendor invoice processing, payment lists, and customer invoicing while monitoring outstanding balances.
• Support inventory accounting by recording stock movements and verifying sales and cost of goods sold reports.
• Prepare schedules for VAT, WHT, PAYE, and pension filings and maintain compliance documentation.
• Manage petty cash, process staff expense claims, and track operational expenses for senior review.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of supplier and customer accounts and flag inconsistencies.
• Help maintain fixed‑asset records and support audit queries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience in a structured organization.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under supervision to meet deadlines.
• Residency in or near Ikeja preferred for easy commute.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).

What we offer

• Salary of N250,000 per month, dependent on proficiency and experience.
