About the role
The Chief Operating Officer will lead the day‑to‑day operations of a private hospital, ensuring high‑quality patient care and efficient service delivery. Reporting to the Medical Director and Board, the COO will drive operational excellence across clinical and non‑clinical functions.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee daily hospital operations and coordinate all departments.
- Promote teamwork and a superior patient experience.
- Manage budgets, procurement, inventory, and equipment.
- Supervise HMO/insurance processes, revenue collection and cost control.
- Lead workforce planning, performance management and staff productivity.
- Ensure compliance, quality assurance, risk management and patient safety.
- Monitor performance using KPIs and management reports.
- Develop strategic partnerships, referral networks and growth opportunities.
Required profile
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience, with proven independent management of hospital operations.
- Strong leadership and people‑management capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience in hospital administration or healthcare operations.
- Deep understanding of hospital finance, HMO/insurance, procurement and operational management.
- Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
- Experience in a private, specialist or eye hospital is an advantage.
