Software Engineer (Backend)

About the role

Kuda is looking for a result‑driven Backend Software Engineer to maintain and enhance its core banking platforms. You will work on improving existing services, building reusable components and ensuring a seamless experience for millions of African users.

Key responsibilities

• Write, debug and optimise high‑quality, reusable C#/.NET code.
• Develop and maintain web applications and APIs using .NET Core.
• Troubleshoot, test and improve performance of existing services.
• Collaborate with front‑end engineers to integrate UI elements with server‑side logic.
• Modernise legacy systems by applying cloud technologies (Azure, AWS).
• Document technical designs, API specifications and support internal teams.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with agile development, unit testing, code reviews and SDLC.
