Senior Product Designer – Fintech & Payments

About the role

Our client, a technology company focused on payment solutions for African businesses, is seeking a Senior Product Designer to craft exceptional payment experiences for both merchants and consumers. Based in Lagos, you will work in a hybrid setting alongside product managers and engineers, influencing product direction and shaping the user journey.

Key responsibilities

• Define and iterate product concepts, user flows, and high‑fidelity interfaces.
• Conduct user research, synthesize insights, and apply findings to design decisions.
• Contribute to and evolve the company’s design system (Pax).
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers, often as the sole designer in the team.
• Participate in the transition toward design engineering, building components in code with AI‑assisted tools.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience designing digital products with a portfolio that showcases process and outcomes.
• Strong visual design fundamentals, including typography, colour, layout, and interaction.
• Proficiency in Figma and good judgment on design fidelity.
• Experience in financial services, payments, or e‑commerce domains.
• Commitment to accessibility standards and inclusive design.
• Hands‑on experience conducting user research.
• Enthusiasm for learning code and contributing to design‑engineering practices.
