Apparel Technical Designer/Pattern Maker

About the role

We are seeking an Apparel Technical Designer/Pattern Maker to support our garment production factory in Lekki, Lagos. The role involves providing technical design and pattern‑making expertise to ensure high‑quality garments and meet customer customization requests.

Key responsibilities

• Provide sustaining technical design and pattern‑making support to garment manufacturing.
• Design and customize garments according to customer options.
• Create pattern models that meet specifications for existing product lines.
• Modify work instructions and tech packs as needed.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to establish and document best practices.
• Investigate parts and assembly to build comprehensive technical packages.
• Recommend improvements on specifications, patterns, construction methods, and techniques.
• Review patterns with production officers and designers before final approval.

Required profile

• Secondary School Certificate, HND, OND or Bachelor’s degree.
• Knowledge of garment construction standards and manufacturing methods.
• Ability to generate and understand tech packs.
• Effective verbal and written technical communication skills.
• Experience working on‑site in a factory environment.
• Experience in apparel grading and grade‑rule development.
• Understanding of ergonomic design and its impact on manufacturability.
• Understanding of project management principles.
• Previous experience as a pattern maker.
• Detail‑oriented, able to meet deadlines and stand for long periods.
