Senior Accountant – Multi‑Entity Financial Lead

About the role

Our client, a diversified group operating in Education, Energy and Oil & Gas, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to lead financial operations across multiple business units and locations in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for all entities and prepare monthly management accounts and periodic financial statements.
• Produce quarterly and annual financial reports, conduct variance and performance analysis, and monitor cash flow and working capital.
• Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting and track budget performance, providing cost‑control recommendations.
• Ensure full compliance with Nigerian tax regulations (CIT, VAT, PAYE, WHT) and statutory remittances, preparing and filing returns on time.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, liaise with auditors, tax consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls, improve accounting processes and safeguard financial documentation.
• Provide financial oversight for multiple locations, supervise accounting support staff and deliver timely insights to executive management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• ICAN or ACCA qualification strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in group or multi‑entity accounting environments.
• Strong analytical abilities and the capacity to work independently in a structured, multi‑business setting.
