Quantity Surveyor – Transmission & Substation Projects

About the role
We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Lagos and support high‑voltage power transmission and substation projects. You will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, managing contracts and ensuring commercial objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare quantity take‑offs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), cost estimates and budget forecasts for transmission line and substation works.
- Monitor project costs, evaluate variations, prepare interim valuations and support cost control.
- Review subcontractor quotations, negotiate terms and administer subcontract agreements.
- Measure and certify completed works, verify contractor claims and issue payment certificates.
- Track material quantities, procurement costs and resource utilisation to ensure cost efficiency.
- Assist in contract administration, claims management, change orders and dispute resolution.
- Produce commercial reports, cost analyses, cash‑flow forecasts and financial updates for management.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and project management teams to achieve commercial goals.
Required profile
- Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of professional Quantity Surveying experience, preferably on high‑voltage power transmission EPC projects.
- Strong knowledge of quantity take‑offs, cost estimation, BOQs, contract administration and commercial management.
- Experience handling variations, claims, subcontract administration and project cost reporting.
- Familiarity with FIDIC or other standard construction contracts is an advantage.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience using quantity surveying or cost‑management software.
