Quantity Surveyor

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Quantity Surveyor to join our construction consultancy team in Lagos. The role involves managing cost planning, control and contractual matters across a portfolio of high‑profile projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs), take‑offs and detailed cost estimates.
• Carry out cost planning, cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare tender documents, evaluate bids and advise on procurement strategies.
• Conduct interim valuations, assess variations and compile final accounts.
• Measure and value works executed on‑site and produce cost reports, cash‑flow forecasts and financial appraisals.
• Administer construction contracts and manage contractual correspondence.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects and engineers to keep projects within budget.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years post‑qualification experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on the consultancy side.
• Progressive track record in the QS function; unrelated experience will not be considered.
• Membership of NIQS and/or registration with QSRBN is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and report‑writing abilities with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CostX, PlanSwift and AutoCAD.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Sound knowledge of standard methods of measurement (SMM/NRM).
