Facility Engineer

About the role

The Facility Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep, renovation, and optimisation of our retail stores, office, and warehouse facilities in Lagos. You will lead maintenance activities, manage fit‑out projects, and ensure that all building systems operate efficiently and safely.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building systems including lighting, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, roller shutters and HVAC.
• Lead renovation and fit‑out projects using light gauge steel joists, gypsum finishing and other construction methods.
• Coordinate third‑party contractors for specialised repairs and improvements.
• Manage budgets and inventory, track maintenance expenses and optimise spare‑parts stock.
• Use AutoCAD to design and update floor plans, fixture layouts and traffic‑flow diagrams.
• Prepare project specifications, supervise tendering procedures and ensure timelines and quality standards are met.
• Maintain digital records of blueprints, as‑built drawings and equipment maintenance logs.
• Implement energy‑management initiatives such as LED retrofits to reduce utility costs.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, occupational health and safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Perform any other engineering‑related duties assigned by the Line Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Degree in Engineering or a related field.
