Programs and Partnerships Officer

About the role

The Programs and Partnerships Officer will lead the design, implementation and evaluation of our projects, ensuring they align with the mission of Powerful Young Project. This role oversees day‑to‑day operations, builds donor relationships and drives fundraising initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate all programs and projects.
• Develop annual work plans, timelines, budgets and implementation strategies.
• Supervise staff and volunteers to ensure effective performance and project delivery.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities from local and international donors.
• Write and submit grant proposals, concept notes, fundraising pitches and sponsorship requests.
• Design and execute fundraising and resource mobilisation strategies.
• Maintain strong relationships with donors, partners, government agencies, schools and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with donor requirements, grant agreements and organisational policies.
• Prepare and submit programmatic, financial and impact reports.
• Establish monitoring, evaluation and learning systems to track outcomes and impact.
• Represent the organisation at meetings, conferences and networking events.
• Maintain accurate records, databases and documentation for programmes, partnerships and grants.

Required profile

• BSc in a relevant field.
• 2‑4 years of experience in program coordination, fundraising or grant management.
• Proven track record of successful grant writing and fundraising.
• Strong project management and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strategic planning, budgeting and financial management knowledge.
• Leadership, problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
