Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor will lead the welding and production operators on the plant floor, ensuring that machines run efficiently and production targets are met. This onsite role requires close coordination with the Plant Manager, maintenance engineers, and HR to maintain safety, quality, and workforce discipline during each shift.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise all welding/production operators during the shift, guaranteeing machines are manned, running, and producing according to the daily plan for all cylinder sizes.
• Monitor shift output on a machine‑by‑machine basis, identify shortfalls early, investigate root causes, and escalate risks to the Plant Manager.
• Conduct regular floor walks to verify machine status, product quality, correct material usage, and adherence to work instructions.
• Coordinate with the maintenance engineer to record downtime, manage machine stoppages, and ensure timely resumption of production.
• Enforce reject and rework segregation procedures, ensuring non‑conforming parts are correctly tagged and counted.
• Perform a physical headcount at shift start, record attendance, lateness, absenteeism, and early departures, and submit records to HR.
• Manage operator deployment based on skill and availability, arrange cover for absences, and report any unauthorized deployments.
• Identify and report operator under‑performance, misconduct, or safety violations to Junior HR and the Plant Manager.

Required profile

• Mid‑level professional with at least 60 months (5 years) of experience supervising manufacturing or production teams.
• Proven ability to monitor shift output, investigate production shortfalls, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Experience conducting headcounts, managing attendance registers, and reporting workforce metrics.
• Strong knowledge of PPE requirements, safety standards, and quality compliance on a production floor.
• Ability to work closely with maintenance engineers and HR to resolve operational issues.
