Product Owner

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Product Owner to join MIM Finance Company in Lagos. You will help shape the product roadmap, translate business needs into clear user stories, and ensure timely delivery of features that meet market and customer expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in defining and executing the product roadmap aligned with business goals.
• Gather, analyse, and document business and user requirements; write user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Prioritise and maintain the product backlog in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Work closely with developers and designers to deliver product features on schedule.
• Communicate progress, timelines and deliverables to internal stakeholders and incorporate feedback.
• Conduct market research, competitor analysis and user testing to identify opportunities.
• Monitor product performance, track issues and recommend enhancements based on data and feedback.
• Maintain up-to-date product documentation, release notes and progress reports.

Required profile

• At least 2 years of experience in product management, product ownership, business analysis or related roles.
• Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management capabilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
