Principal Banker – Real Estate (Nigeria)

About the role

Our client, an international financial institution, is seeking a Principal Banker to lead its Real Estate team in Nigeria. The role requires extensive experience in real estate financing or development and the ability to manage complex transactions across the full project life‑cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and execute complex real estate and hospitality transactions, supporting senior operation leaders and managing project teams.
• Monitor portfolios, create value, and produce detailed reporting for senior stakeholders.
• Lead or support policy dialogue initiatives and assist in securing grants and technical cooperation funds.
• Drive business development by building market contacts and cross‑selling the bank’s competencies.
• Recruit, train, coach and mentor junior bankers, ensuring high‑quality project delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong quantitative and numerical abilities with experience in financial modeling.
• Proven credit analysis skills and understanding of local and international accounting principles.
• Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office and spreadsheet‑based financial analysis tools.
• Excellent stakeholder, relationship and negotiation management.
• Demonstrated coaching, mentoring and leadership capabilities.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
• Fluent written and oral communication in English.
