Payroll Manager

About the role

The Payroll Manager will lead end‑to‑end payroll operations for FairMoney, a fast‑growing mobile banking company in Nigeria. Reporting to Finance, you will ensure accurate, timely salary processing, maintain employee data integrity and guarantee compliance with all statutory obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for all staff, including salaries, allowances, bonuses, deductions, loans and final settlements within the payroll calendar.
• Maintain and update payroll records for new hires, exits, promotions, transfers, salary reviews and unpaid leave.
• Ensure accurate calculation and timely remittance of statutory contributions such as PAYE, pension, NSITF, ITF, NHF and other deductions.
• Liaise with tax authorities, pension administrators and regulatory bodies to resolve issues.
• Prepare monthly payroll reports for management, Finance and HR leadership.
• Reconcile payroll data with HRIS, bank payment files, Finance records and statutory filings.
• Analyse payroll cost trends and provide insights for budgeting, forecasting and workforce planning.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail and high level of confidentiality handling employee compensation data.
• Proven experience in payroll administration within a regulated environment.
• Good understanding of Nigerian labour, tax, pension and data protection regulations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with Finance, HR, Legal and external partners.
