Mechanic

About the role

E-direct is seeking a skilled Mechanic to maintain and service petrol and diesel generators at its Lagos facility. The role involves ensuring reliable power supply through routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid response to breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and preventive maintenance of petrol and diesel generators.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in generator sets.
• Install, commission, and test new generators to verify proper operation.
• Troubleshoot engine, fuel, cooling, lubrication, charging, and electrical system issues.
• Replace defective parts such as filters, belts, injectors, batteries, alternators, starters, sensors, hoses, and fuel pumps.
• Perform engine overhauls and major repairs when required.
• Monitor generator performance and recommend component replacements to prevent breakdowns.
• Inspect control panels, wiring, batteries, and safety systems for proper functionality.
• Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and repair reports.
• Respond promptly to emergency generator breakdowns and restore equipment with minimal downtime.

Required profile

• Minimum of S.S.C.E qualification.
• At least 2 years of experience in generator maintenance or a similar mechanical role.
• Ability to work on‑site in Lagos and handle emergency situations efficiently.
