Quality Control Analyst

About the role

The Quality Control Analyst will work on the factory floor of an edible‑oil processing plant, performing daily laboratory tests and ensuring that all products meet strict chemical, physical and regulatory specifications. The role combines hands‑on sampling, analytical testing, and documentation to keep the plant audit‑ready for Nigerian food‑safety authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily chemical and physical analyses on crude and refined oil samples, monitoring Free Fatty Acids, Peroxide Value, iodine value, moisture and impurities.
• Collect oil samples throughout the production line to verify that intermediate processing specifications are met.
• Inspect the semi‑automatic bottling line for correct fill weights, sealing integrity, batch coding and accurate production/expiry dates.
• Maintain complete batch records, lab logs and documentation to ensure readiness for NAFDAC, SON and local health inspections.
• Enforce GMP and hygiene standards on the shop floor and immediately isolate out‑of‑specification batches.

Required profile

• Minimum HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science & Technology or a related scientific discipline.
• 2‑5 years of practical laboratory or QC experience in a food‑manufacturing environment, preferably with edible‑oil processing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, GMP and Nigerian food‑safety regulations.

Required skills

• Laboratory titration techniques and weight‑check procedures.
• Operation and calibration of pH meters, moisture analyzers and refractometers.
• Testing methods for Free Fatty Acids, Peroxide Value and iodine value.
• Application of HACCP and GMP standards.
• Understanding of NAFDAC and SON regulatory requirements.
