Logistics General Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Logistics General Manager to lead our shipping and logistics operations in Lagos. The role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management to drive efficiency, profitability and growth across transportation, warehousing and distribution functions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and develop operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Oversee transportation, fleet, warehousing, inventory and distribution operations ensuring timely, cost‑effective delivery.
• Lead, mentor and develop departmental managers and operational teams across multiple sites.
• Monitor KPIs, implement continuous‑improvement initiatives and drive digital transformation.
• Prepare and manage annual budgets, control operational costs and report performance to executive leadership.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors and strategic partners while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.
• Identify business development opportunities and support revenue‑growth initiatives.
• Manage risk, business continuity and operational compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or related field (MBA or professional certifications such as CILT, PMP, APICS a plus).
• Minimum 8 years of logistics or supply‑chain experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or General Manager role.
• Proven experience managing large teams and multi‑site operations.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and business‑planning capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem‑solving abilities.
• Outstanding leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
