Key Account Manager

About the role

The Key Account Manager will lead and expand relationships with our strategic banking and finance clients, driving revenue growth across Africa. You will act as the primary liaison, ensuring seamless service delivery and long‑term partnership success.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute account plans to increase transaction volumes, revenue, and client retention.
• Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities for the company’s payment and financial products.
• Coordinate onboarding of new enterprise clients and strategic payment partners.
• Serve as the escalation point for key customer issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Collaborate with Product, Technology, Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Customer Support teams.
• Monitor customer performance, transaction trends, and service levels; provide regular business reviews.
• Negotiate commercial terms, renewals, and partnership agreements within approved limits.
• Drive merchant acquisition and expansion of payment corridors across Africa.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, account pipelines, and revenue forecasts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on account performance and pipeline activities.
• Track market trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with AML/CFT requirements and regulatory obligations.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in key account management within banking, finance or payments.
• Relevant degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Proven track record of managing strategic enterprise clients.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional teams.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM systems for account management.
• Knowledge of payment processing, transaction monitoring, and compliance standards.
