HVAC Engineer

About the role

The company is seeking a senior HVAC Engineer to lead its HVAC department in Lagos. You will be responsible for delivering HVAC projects from design through commissioning while ensuring quality, safety and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the HVAC department, overseeing project delivery and team performance.
• Design, review, and supervise installation, testing and commissioning of HVAC systems.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor HVAC projects from inception to completion.
• Review HVAC and MEP drawings, technical specifications and project documentation.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and best practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers, supervisors and technicians.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects and other engineering disciplines.
• Prepare schedules, reports, cost estimates and technical documentation.
• Monitor project quality, timelines, budgets and safety compliance.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges and implement engineering solutions.

Required profile

• B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC engineering experience.
• Hands‑on experience in HVAC design, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Background in MEP contracting or construction projects.
• Proven leadership managing HVAC teams and multiple projects.
• Ability to read and interpret HVAC/MEP drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of HVAC standards, building codes and industry best practices.
• Professional certification or membership (e.g., COREN, NSE, ASHRAE) is a plus.
