Health Unit Coordinator

About the role

The Health Unit Coordinator supports the smooth operation of patient services within a healthcare facility. You will act as the first point of contact for patients, manage documentation, and ensure accurate record‑keeping while collaborating with medical and non‑medical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, distribute admission and discharge forms, and guide them through the process.
• Maintain appointment calendars and schedule diagnostic tests.
• Interpret doctors’ orders, provide prescriptions, and update patient information in the database.
• Track vital signs, manage medical charts, and keep comprehensive patient records, including birth and death certificates.
• Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure stock availability.
• Assist junior team members with document collection and other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare processes.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
